Nasello Wreck

The Nasello, like the KT 12, fell victim to torpedoes from the British submarine Safari in 1943. It is an ancient Italian merchant ship that now lies on its left side on the seabed off Cala Luna. The hull was torn apart by the submarine’s shells, exposing numerous parts of the machinery, the propeller, the rudder, and much of the bow and stern sections.

Covered in a dense mix of marine flora, the wreck of the Nasello is also home to various marine species including large scorpionfish, groupers, sea cicadas, and large moray eels.
